DOB: June xxxx Breed: Yellow Labrador Retriever/Pitbull Weight/Coloring: Sissy weighs about 55 pounds and has a beautiful yellow coat. She has a long snout and a slender build. Rescue Story: Sissy was bailed from the West Valley shelter where she was scheduled to be euthanized, a volunteer of ours was there and noticed this beautiful girl. He called us immediately asking to save her life, which we did. Her owners turned her in to the shelter for no good reason at all. Personality: Sissy is a silly and playful puppy at heart. She is a people dog and enjoys meeting new faces every opportunity she gets. Every new friend gets a greeting full of licks and kisses as she is as affectionate as they come. Sissy loves to be doted on and petted. Her favorite past time is playing ball, she could play a game of fetch all day and all night if she could. She also enjoys a good game of tug of war with her favorite human or a companion dog. Sissy looks for approval from her human and will do her best to constantly please the people she loves. She hates to let her loved ones down and is very submissive to her leader. When scolded, Sissy will crawl over in a pathetic, shameful way to show how remorseful she is that she disappointed the one she loves. Sissy would make an excellent running partner as she definitely is a girl who needs her energy released somehow. She would benefit from going on walks or having a doggy playmate to keep her company. She does walk well and by her handlers side, however she does get excitable at the sight of a squirrel or cat so therefore needs firm guidance. At night, Sissy loves to snuggle on a dogbed and just like a child, loves to be put to sleep under the covers all snug in her bed (she absolutely hates cold weather!). Sissy enjoys playing with small dogs who think they are big - as in, she is gentle and sweet with the little guys but if they are intimidated by her size its not a match. She has a blast getting on her back and letting the little dogs bite and wrestle her, however it should be a smaller dog with confidence OR ideally a larger male dog companion. At the end of the day, she likes to be the boss and is a take charge kind of dog with whoever she is playing with so a doggy friend should probably take a submissive role with Ms Sissy. Would do best: Sissy would do best in a home/yard situation. She could be the only dog if given lots of attention, walks, and playtime. She'd also enjoy having another furry companion around to be buddies with. She could be a great family dog, or a one owner type of dog, as she easily bonds with people in general. definitely needs a house, no apartments as she needs access to a yard to do her business. Cats/Dogs/Kids: no cats, kids big yes but over 7 yrs old). As stated earlier, Sissy is a fun playmate for another male dog or a small dog who is confident and comfortable with larger dogs.
